Inheritance in the Holy Book and Islam  

The Bible doesn't consider women equal to men but even, according to the majority of the theologians, she is source of all evils. The basic reason that stands behind this belief is the fake story about the Original Sin, which if judged by mind, it will be proved fake.  

This may explain why women doesn't have the right to inherit according to the bible but even she is considered a prosperity that should be passed to the brother of her husband if her brother dies.

Please note that women in Islam is equal to man and inherits half the man inherits because she is not responsible for the family, in some cases she inherits more than man inherits.

Please note that the Holy Book says that women should not inherit in case there is a son

The Bible is clear about if sons exist, then the daughters inherit nothing

Numbers 27

"Say to the Israelites, 'If a man dies and leaves no son, turn his inheritance over to his daughter. 9 If he has no daughter, give his inheritance to his brothers. 10 If he has no brothers, give his inheritance to his father's brothers. 11 If his father had no brothers, give his inheritance to the nearest relative in his clan, that he may possess it. This is to be a legal requirement for the Israelites, as the LORD commanded Moses.' "

Notice dow) inherits nothing.  And notice how the daughter only inherits when no sons exist.  Also, the oldest son inherits double the younger son:

Deuteronomy 21

15 If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons but the firstborn is the son of the wife he does not love,
16 when he wills his property to his sons, he must not give the rights of the firstborn to the son of the wife he loves in preference to his actual firstborn, the son of the wife he does not love.
17 He must acknowledge the son of his unloved wife as the firstborn by giving him a double share of all he has. That son is the first sign of his father's strength. The right of the firstborn belongs to him. 

The Biblical attitude has been succinctly described by Rabbi Epstein:

“The continuous and unbroken tradition since the Biblical days gives the female members of the household, wife and daughters, no right of succession to the family estate. In the more primitive scheme of succession, the female members of the family were considered part of the estate and as remote from the legal personality of an heir as the slave. Whereas by Mosaic enactment the daughters were admitted to succession in the event of no male issue remained, the wife was not recognized as heir even in such conditions  

Why were the female members of the family considered part of the family estate? Rabbi Epstein has the answer:

“They are owned --before marriage, by the father; after marriage, by the husband"
The Biblical rules of inheritance are outlined in Numbers 27:1-11.

A wife is given no share in her husband’s estate, while he is her first heir, even before her sons. A daughter can inherit only if no male heirs exist. A mother is not an heir at all while the father is. Widows and daughters, in case male children remained, were at the mercy of the male heirs for provision.

That is why widows and orphan girls were among the most destitute members of the Jewish society.
Christianity has followed suit for a long time. Both the ecclesiastical and civil laws of Christendom barred daughters from sharing with their brothers their patrimony. Besides, wives were deprived of any inheritance rights. These iniquitous laws survived till late in the last century.

 What about the New Testament

The new testament gives a blind eye to the rules of inheritance, there is no mention of any word that organize inheritance, the sole part in the New Testament that talks about inheritance holds talking about inheritance repugnant and reproaches whoever thinks about it, I wonder how can life go on well without laws that organize life. However  Prophet Jesus didn't bring new law.  these are the verses that mention the word inheritance:

13And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. 14  And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? 15  And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. 16  And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17  And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18  And he said,

This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

19  And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

20  But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

21  So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

22  And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

23  The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

The above mentioned verses is the sole verse that mentions inheritance, Jesus didn't give a satisfactory answer because, according to the bible, he didn't come with a new law and that his kingdom is a spiritual kingdom that is in heaven. However the Christian world invented laws that organize the division of inheritance, these are not divine laws. This explain why we Muslim claim that Islam is the sole perfect religion that suits every time and every place. In the time when the other religions ignore females in inheritance, Islam gives her inheritance from father, husband, children. A women inherits half a man inherits simply because she is not responsible to spend on her family and her husband has no right to ask her to spend on the family, in some cases women inherit the same share as a man does and in other cases she inherits more than males.
