The mechanism by which the earth is spinning around itself is imperfectly understood up to now. Our modern sciences cannot grasp the reality in every thing. In the following verse from Quran; God states scientifically signs of His Wisdom in the universe that indicate secrets of His Science. The underlined words refer to the spinning mechanism of the earth by words which open a scientific way to grasp the reality.

007.54 "Your Guardian-Lord is the God Who created the heavens and the earth in six days then He established the Throne (of authority); the night is drawn as a veil over the day in an inductive acquisition (for succession); the sun, the moon and the stars are governed by His Command according to Sovereign's laws that should be obeyed. Isn't to Him belong the Creation and Govern? Blessed be the God, the Owner (Cherisher and Sustainer) of the Worlds."  
 

Firstly, we will discuss the start of the verse:

     "Your Guardian-Lord is the God Who created the heavens and the earth"

In this verse of Quran; God introduces Himself as the Creator of the heavens and the earth. No one had defined or will define Himself in this way but God. And none may deny that there should be One Creator of such uniquely designed and ordered universe. God of such infinite universe is surely unimaginable by our limited senses and dimensions as the Quran states in many verses. There are many other verses in the Quran that review the wisdom of creation of such unique universe and the impossibility of existence of more than one creator. If we have more than one creator, the following verses discuss what can be done: 
 

017.042 Say: If there had been (other) gods with Him, as they say, - behold, they would certainly have sought out a way to the Lord of the Throne!

021.022 If there were, in the heavens and the earth, other gods besides God, there would have been confusion in both! but glory to God, the Lord of the Throne: (High is He) above what they attribute to Him!

023.091 No son did God beget, nor is there any god along with Him: (if there were many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lorded it over others! Glory to God! (He is free) from the (sort of) things they attribute to Him! Then, the verse continued to describe that the creation of the universe was done in stages:
 

"Who created the heavens and the earth in six days?"

On the other hand, we read in the Quran in many verses, the Creation process takes six God's days without any analogy to the earthly days. To understand what the Quran means by a God's day, one should put all the verses in which the word "a day of creation" is revealed and then he can try to find a common meaning.

022.047 Verily a Day in the sight of thy Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning.

032.05."He directs the affairs from heavens to the earth; then it ascends unto Him on a day, the measure of which is (as) a thousand years of your reckoning"

0.70.04."The angels and the Spirit (Gabriel) ascend unto Him in a day, the measure whereof is (as) fifty thousand years" How could the immense mystery of time be enforced in our minds better than that? A day in the standard of Allah may be one day, or 1,000 years, or 50,000 years, depending on the event, relative to the human standard of time! According to the theory of relativity, the time change of a fast moving object is very real and has nothing to do with any mechanical change that takes place in a clock because of its motion. So; as we understand God created the heavens and the earth in 6 stages…why in 6 stages…According to Quran, God has a measure for everything.  
 

065.03  "Allah has appointed a measure for all things. (Surat at-Talaq: 3)

013.08 "Everything has its measure with Him. (Surat ar-Ra‘d: 8)

04.086 "Allah takes account of everything. (Surat an-Nisa': 86)
 

According to the Bible; God created the universe in 6 days each of which was limited by sunrise and sunset. He then got tired after these six days and He got a rest in the seventh day; the Sabbath. Such claims do not suit God's Greatness. In Quran; God established such universe by His Will from "Ratq" (Fibers from which the fibers that filled the heaven were extracted to fill the universe).
 

021.030 Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together in a ratq (woven texture as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder into fibers? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?
 

However, it is impossible for God to be tired.  He is not a Human to be tired according the limited imagination of who corrupted the original Bible. In Quran; God mentioned it is impossible for God to get tired: 

050.038 We created the heavens and the earth and all between them in Six Days, nor did any sense of weariness touch Us. Instead of taking a rest in the seventh day;

God established the throne of His authority in the materialistic universe according to the next part of the verse: "then He established the Throne (of authority)" So; God tells in Quran He does not get tired after such creation. According to this verse, He established the Throne in the next step. Such throne accommodates the universe. God acknowledges in us in this verse that a materialistic throne was established in the start of creation to be a sign of His Authority and Ability to organizing and ordering such materialistic universe.  Such throne is mentioned also in another verse that it includes the heavens and the earth or extends over them. The visible universe has the shape of an extremely large sphere whose diameter is 14 billion years. Such huge universe is a constituent of the God's infinite throne as the following verse indicates.
 

002.255 YUSUFALI: Allah! There is no god but He, -the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth.   His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).

PICKTHAL: Allah! There is no deity save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous.

 SHAKIR: Allah is He Besides Whom there is no god, the Everliving, the Self-subsisting by Whom all subsist; slumber does not overtake Him nor sleep; whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His; who is he that can intercede with Him but by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they cannot comprehend anything out of His knowledge except what He pleases, His knowledge extends over the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of them both tires Him not, and He is the Most High, the Great.

It is a matter of logic which assures our limited vision that cannot grasp the God's infinite throne which is a materialistic three dimensional space. So; how much is the arrogance of some short-sighted people who like to imagine or see the God.

No one has the ability to imagine God. He is beyond our vision or our ability to see and imagine:

006.103

YUSUFALI:No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things.
PICKTHAL: Vision comprehendeth Him not, but He comprehendeth (all) vision. He is the Subtile, the Aware.
SHAKIR: Vision comprehends Him not, and He comprehends (all) vision; and He is the Knower of subtleties, the Aware.

 If we look at the earth; it is the third planet in terms of distance from the sun. We are familiar with its shape, size, structure and the atmosphere. It has one natural satellite, the moon. The earth is the only planet known to have a life on it. We are aware of the special conditions existing on the earth that resulted in the evolution and sustenance of life on it. Looking at the following figure; it is seen how the night's darkness veils over the whole earth and surrounding the day and night. We know that the earth rotates about an imaginary axis that passes through its north and south poles. The axis of rotation of the earth is the axis of rotation of the earth is slightly tilted with respect to the plane of its orbit. The day and the night on the earth occur due to this rotation. The average speed of the earth rotation on theequator is 465.1 m/s or 1,674.4 km/h. Such speed is kept constant by all measures.
 

However; how such earth is rotating. Some theories tell the Earth is a natural inductive-capacitive electrical machine, with both motor and generator. This substantiates the theory of electro-mechanical mechanism for rotation of the planet and a single electromechanical essence of all natural phenomena. However; such theories did not tell the source of such induction. The next part of the verse state how such earth may be rotating:

the night is drawn as a veil over the day in an inductive acquisition (for succession); In this verse; God tells "the veiling of night over the day," i.e. the darkness veils over the earth's side that faces the sun as seen in the figure. So night is drawn on day which was covered by sun's radiation during the day. It may be understood from the phrase "in an inductive acquisition"that such veiling is the source of inductive currents which may create convectional currents in the core of earth from the heated portion of the earth during the sun-light to the cold portion during the night. Such currents power, according to the stated verse "INDUCTIVELY," such earth's spinning. This plausible explanation of what really happened cannot be proved by our present tools of science. However; it is an approach to unknown reality as revealed to Mohamed since more than fourteen centuries. This knowledge is SCIENCE FOR FUTURE. I think it will take us some decades or centuries to REALIZE the facts in this verse. The next statement in this verse gives another evidence of God's Widom:

the sun, the moon and the stars are governed by His Command according to Sovereign's laws that should be obeyed . In the time of Mohammad's message, many peoples prayed to the sun as it was supposed to be the God. They thought that sun gives by its own mind the light and warmth to the earth. In this verse it is clearly stated that the sun is governed by its Creator; Allah or the God According Sovereign's laws. Such laws are really sovereign as we see how the sun is neatly run by very fine tuning at finely tuned rates. The science discovered our disability to run similar reactions (by nuclear fusion) on the earth. Let us review the signs in the sun, the moon and the stars:
 

 The Sun generates energy by nuclear fusion of hydrogen nuclei into helium, fusing about 600 million tons of hy­drogen every second. Such steady fusion cannot be done without complete obedience to The Creator of such sun who obliged it to go regularly these billions of years. On the earth, Scientists failed to control similar nuclear fusions. Solar physicists say it takes a million years for the energy created at the Sun's core to make its way to the surface where it radiates into space The Sun is about 70% hydrogen and 28% helium by mass, and since its birth, our star hasconsumed about half of the hydrogen in its heart. It will continue to radiate for another five bil­lion years, and its luminosity is expected to nearly double in that time.
 

The Sun is a nearly-perfect sphere, and rotates on its axis. But unlike Earth and other solid objects, the Sun is a giant ball of gas and plasma, so different parts of the Sun spin at different speeds. We know this by observing sun­spots. The region of the Sun near its equator rotates once every 25 days. The rotation rate decreases with increasing latitude, so rotation is slowest near the Sun's poles, which rotate once every 36 days. Such hard control of the sun is impossible to go without Governing by God.
 

 Sunlight travels to Earth in about eight minutes and nineteen seconds and supports life by photosynthesis, as well as driving Earth's climate and weather. In addition to heat and light, the Sun's hot corona emits a low density stream of charged particles, mostly electrons and protons, known as the solar wind that charge the inductive power for earth rotation.

  The Moon circles Earth; Earth orbits the Sun; and the Sun in turn orbits the center of the Milky Way galaxy, creating what is called the Cosmic Year. Astronomers have calculated that it takes 225-240 million years for the Sun to orbit the center of the Milky Way, traveling at the astonishing speed of 782,000 km/hour in a circular path. Our so­lar system resides in what is called the Orion Arm of the galaxy and is 26,000 light-years from the center. The spiral arms of our great galaxy also twirl through space. The Sun has circled the center of the galaxy about twenty times in its stellar lifetime, and the last time the Sun was in its current position, dinosaurs roamed the Earth. If estimates are accurate, the Sun has thirty more cosmic circuits before it runs out of gas.

The motions of the Moon around the Earth and of the Earth around the Sun are complex. The motions involved in revolutions are superimposed on the movements involved in rotations. The Earth and the Moon both turn on their own axis (rotation), but both also move around another object (revolution). The positioning of the moon with respect to the earth and the sun gives it along the moon-month different shapes which starts from nothing to the complete moon and then once more to nothing. The difference between the solar year and the moon's year (12 moon's months) is 11 days. Such control is beyond the ability of any natural control as we see in the floods for example which have big tolerances.
 

The rotation of the Earth (24 hours) explains the alternation of day and night. The revolution of the Earth around the Sun (365.25 days), because of the inclination of its axis (not shown here), explains the changing seasons. The fact that the rotation of the Moon on its own axis and its revolution around the Earth both require the same amount of time (29.5 days) explains why the Moon always shows its same side to the Earth.
 

Can anyone believe such regular functioning of the sun, the moon and billions of stars in the Milky Way galaxy are done by a mindless nature?  We see how the nature destroyed everything in the tsunamis. So; nature may destroy not to regulate things in such fine tuning. If such ordering was left to nature; we find a 28 hours’ day and another 36 hours’ day; a 400 days’ year and a 500 days’ year; a winter of - 100^oC and a summer of 400^oC. But such fine tuning of everything cannot be done by just nature. So; this Question came by the end of this verse:
 

Isn't to Him belong the Creation and Govern?

This question is an example of the Quran's logic. God asked us to Think and motivate our human logic. Can anyone Deny God's hand in such uniquely created and governed universe? The scientific answer of this question cannot be fully covered because our sciences are still very limited as the Quran states in the following verse:

017.085 YUSUFALI: They ask thee concerning the Spirit (of inspiration). Say: "The Spirit (cometh) by command of my Lord: of knowledge it is only a little of science that is communicated to you, (O men!)"
PICKTHAL: They are asking thee concerning the Spirit. Say: The Spirit is by command of my Lord, and of knowledge ye have been vouchsafed but little.
SHAKIR: And they ask you about the soul. Say: The soul is one of the commands of my Lord, and you are not given aught of knowledge but a little.

Now; we come to the end of this verse to state our praying to The Great and Organizer of Our Universe, or as the verse states: "Blessed be the God, the Owner (Cherisher and Sustainer) of the Worlds."
