The Secret Relations Discovered
Shortly after idolaters had violated the treaty that the prophet held with them, the prophet decided to conquer Mecca, the foothold of the idolaters, without shedding a drop of blood. Hateb ibn Belta, a Muslim whose belief was still weak decided to impart to the idolaters in Mekka the military stratagem of invading Mecca. He chose a certain woman and gave her a letter to carry to the chief of the idolaters and the woman was keen to hide this letter in a place where no one could imagine it. She put the piece of paper in a braid under her head cover. The prophet, after being told about that about the angel Gabriel, sent Aly, Al-mekdad and Al-Zoubyr to get the woman and told them who was the woman, where they would find her and where she would hide the paper. Upon reaching the place that the prophet told them about, the companions found the woman whom they asked her to give them the letter but she denied that she had any letters. Upon her denial, the companions asked her to get out the letter otherwise they would have remove her head cover- the prophet told them that she would be hiding the letter under her head cover. The woman, fearing that they would uncover her head, she get out the paper from her braid exactly as the prophet determined where she would hide it. |
