The Prophet Moses Predicted the Advent Prophet Muhammad
Deuteronomy, 18 (17, 18, 19) says
Whilst this prophecy fits well prophet Muhammad. The Jews claim that it fits Joshua and the Christians claim that it fits Jesus. This prophecy doesn't fit Joshua This prophecy doesn't fit Jesus because: (1)Long after the death of Joshua and at the time of Jesus, the Jews remained awaiting for the expected prophet mentioned in this prophecy. The Jews remained awaiting for the prophet even at the time Of Jesus. (see: Deuteronomy(34:10-12)andJohn 1:19-29 ) (2)Deuteronomy(34:10-12) refutes the Jewish claim because it says
(3) What also proves that the Jews were still waiting for the expected prophet is John(1/19-25) which says: John 1:19-29 :
(a) The word brethren means that neither Joshua nor any Jewish ones were the meant because they were from among the Israelites – not their brethren. If prophet Moses had meant an Israeli prophet, he would have said from " yourselves because the twelve main Jewish tribes were there- not from among your brethrens. The word brethren as stated elsewhere in the Holy Book is used to refer to their cousins who are the Arabs. (b)The wording of the prophecy says "will rise" which means future event, but Joshua was physically there at the time of Moses among the addressed persons. (c) The wording of the prophecy says "like unto thee(Moses)", but Joshua was Junior to Moses and was nominated by Moses to be a successor, he was not independent prophet, he even did not have a book and subsequently no new law. This prophecy doesn't fit Jesus but it fits The Prophet Muhammad. Prophet Jesus or prophet Mohummed? This prophecy fits prophet Mohummed and only prophet Mohummed for the following reasons: (1)The prophecy says " … from their brethren”
Muhammad is like Moses while Jesus is not
More evidence that the prophet fits Muhammad
The prophecy says God Will Put His Words in the Mouth of the Awaited Prophet. It is known that prophet Muhammad was unlettered, so God will put his words in his mouth. Jesus was lettered. The Prophet Muhammad came with a message to the whole world, this is supported by the following words"…And he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him." It is known that Prophet did impart and convey God's word to the world and he did not die till he had completed his message, Jesus didn't impart his message fully. (4) The prophecy says
The Holy Quran is composed of 114 chapters, all of them start with " Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem" meaning " In the name of Allah , the most Merciful , the Most compassionate. " Only one chapter doesn't begin with this verse while another chapter repeats the same verse twice. So this part of the prophecy applies to the prophet too.
